Reso comes to Miami

Earlier this year Reso along with Philly beats maker Starkey and singer Anneka built a completed track within 2 hours live on Mary Anne Hobbs show on Radio 1. They did a fantastic job showcasing their musical ability under pressure, working together. Luckily we get to see one of these amazingly talented musicians at the White Room August 7th!

Starkey + Reso + Anneka Builld a Beat for MAH on Radio 1

PRESS KIT BUSINESS:

RESO is a rising star, gaining worldwide notoriety for his technoid inspired productions which often transcend the dubstep tag that many have easily slotted him into. Reso’s aural identity is a densely layered, high octane tapestry, rich with musical texture and colour, which sets him apart from the minimal sparseness of many of his fellow producers. With a busy DJ schedule, Reso ...has been smashing dancefloors from Newcastle to Nottingham and London, whilst regularly hitting Europe.

Mary Anne Hobbs has been a fervent supporter of the young producer, commissioning a special 20-minute mix for her Radio One Breezeblock show back in January 2007. Reso has worked with Burial, engineering his critically acclaimed remix of Jamie Woon's Wayfaring Stranger. More recently Reso's remix of The Dubstitutes 2 Faced Rasta (Dubting) has been gathering strong support from some of Dubstep's key players such as Benga, N-Type, Walsh and Rusko. With releases due on Hospital Records, Storming Productions, Destructive, Urban Graffiti and Skud, Reso is definitely one to catch! http://www.myspace.com/corgrimey

TRENCH is from Atlanta and one of the leading engineers for T.Is Grand Hustle label. Backed by artists from Shadow Law Recordings, Vision, Renegade Hardware, Evol Intent Recordings, Citrus, and Trillbass, as well as original material and exclusive mashups from his own production, get prepared to be relentlessly assaulted from today's newest & unreleased Drum & Bass and Dubstep. Trench's newest production smasher "Deadly" will be released on Trillbass Records on August 10, to couple the recent release of his brutal yet melodic remix of Wes Green's "Fly Away" which is already gaining the attention of dance floors and DJs Nationwide. Trench is infamous for using 3 decks, and doing countless triple drops when he performs, leading many to coin him as the "Andy C of Dubstep". Trust when we tell you, once you see Trench live, all other DJs will pale in comparison.

With special drink prices, DizTruktif and Miami New Times "Best New Electronica Artist, SOMEJERK this is a night to celebrate music and talent.

Lazer Sword + A-Sides Get Low August 12th!

GET LOW XVI is on it's way, so I hope you've recovered from XV. I barely have. If you were at the last one, check smileforcamera.com and find yourself.

August 12th 2010 the biggest bass sound in Miami will be at The Vagabond's (((SHAKE))) party for GET LOW XVI. Our honored guests for the evening are LAZER SWORD and A-SIDES, so expect another big one!

LAZER SWORD
is the tag team of two bass stars from opposing coasts, LANDO KAL from New York and LOW LIMIT from San Francisco. If you don't know, get familiar by watching this video they did for XLR8R...

That was from January 2009, and they've since blown the F up! Download this mix they did for Fact Magazine or this one on Afromonk's blog and get ready for the sound of future blap! With LANDO KAL moving to Berlin, this may be the first and last time you see these guys together in Miami for a long time, so get on it!

A-SIDES is one of the biggest Drum & Bass DJs in the world with over 500 tracks to his name. The UK native has been running record labels since way back from East Side to Fuze to BassHead Records with our very own JUAN BASSHEAD. Joe Nice returns to Miami at Down

Joe Nice makes his return to Miami at Down on July 25th at Bar. You've seen Joe destroy crowds with his epic sets during WMC and at Get Low, and you don't want to miss him at Down.

Joe Nice is quoted to be, "The most famous American DJ playing Dubstep, Nice founded New York's irregular Dub War club night, which has hosted performances by British Dubstep artists such as Hatcha, Youngsta, Kode9, and Mala. He performs regularly in New York, London (including at scene pillar DMZ), and elsewhere. He first heard Dubstep in 2002, at the Baltimore venue Starscape, and began playing it that same year. He has been praised for his charisma and stage presence. In 2005 music journalist Martin Clark also praised him for his access to new dubplates (in contrast to other American Dubstep DJs) and willingness to play tracks by lesser-known producers. In 2007, Nice was selected as one of URB magazine's "Next 100."

Alongside him are some of Miami's best dubstep DJ's:

Ashworth (Down/Get Low)
Somejerk (Digital Felon/Get Low)
Methodus (Digital Felon/Bassdrive)
Munkz (Miami Glitch/Down)
Gray Ghost (Down)
Gooddroid (Down/Get Low)

HATCHA @ GET LOW! JULY 15TH

"No one DJ or indeed producer can claim sole credit for dubstep. But when the history of the genre gets told, no DJ has ever had, or perhaps ever will again have so much influence over the course of the genre as Hatcha. It’s no overstatement to say the entire genre bares his stamp...."

hatcha head image

"Hatcha’s roots seep deep back into late ‘90s UK garage, Croydon and pirate radio. Originally the buyer at the now defunct Big Apple record shop, Hatcha was one of the very first DJs to pick up on the new dark strains of 2step that were being made by local producers like El-B, Artwork and Horsepower at the turn of the millennium. As the producers came into the shop to sell white labels of these niche new sounds, a community arose. The shop began its own label, Big Apple Records and its first release was the dubstep classic “Red” by the shop’s resident producer Artwork.

The next releases came from his two protégés, Benga and Skream. As the garage sounds from south London began to take on their own unique, dark swung direction, it became clear that the nascent scene needed a home. In 2001 Forward>>, dubstep’s founding club, started with Hatcha a resident. It was here he began to up the ante. While other DJs came with a collection of white labels (tracks immanently due for a public release), he arrived with a box of upfront dubplates: unique one-off exclusive tracks. No DJ could test.

Throughout the decade Hatcha’s sets, first on south London pirates then Rinse FM and now Kiss 100, went from strength to strength. His headline slots at Forward>> forged the genre into the form we now know it in. This was in no small part because he had exclusive access to Benga and Skream’s music, before adding three new producers: Mala Digital Mystikz, Coki and Loefah to his arsenal. The destiny of an entire scene lay in his hands, every time he played.

In 2003 he even played a part in naming the genre. Amidst the scene’s key players: the Big Apple camp and Ammunition who ran Forward>> and Tempa, the term “dubstep” (from dubby 2step garage), began being circulated. It appeared in a press release and then on a US magazine cover. Hatcha was then asked to mix the scene’s first compilation that cemented the use of the name: Dubstep Allstars vol 1. He must have done something right: they asked him back to co-mix volume 4.

Since those times Hatcha has gone on to hold down his flagship Kiss 100 show alongside long time MC, Crazy D, DJ across the planet, co-produce with a variety of the scene’s heavyweights and mix compilations such as Ten Tons Heavy for Planet Mu. Catch DJ Hatcha under a weighty system near you sometime soon."
