JUAN BASSHEAD AND FRIENDS GET LOW TONIGHT

I hope you're all ready to GET LOW tonight! It's been a long wait, but we promise it will be worth it. We have an all-local lineup this month with some of the best bass talent in town. Our DJ JUAN BASSHEAD is playing his last Miami show before taking off for London to play another Sin City showcase at the legendary Fabric. Let's send this man off to rep the 305 overseas in proper fashion! MC JUMANJI is already in France on a European takeover before meeting Juan in England. His presence will be missed tonight, so remember his voice on this new BATS production...

Bats ft/Mc Jumanji - 3AM Skank

Filling out the Arena we have SOMEJERK, BATS & AMKZ, new production duo RACKUP & PINION, and our MC NOME. Outside on the Patio we've invited our friends from DOWN to curate the sounds. Be on the lookout for an announcement on the next home for their great party. GOODDROID, GRAY GHOST, MAGOULA and TWO WAY will be taking us on a journey to the deeper side of bass music. Here's a recent DOWN mix from ASHWORTH featuring a couple tracks by RACKUP & PINION...

Rep GET LOW tonight if you have one of our shirts, or you can wear your BassHead Music, Miami Dubstep, (((SHAKE)), Bass Love, or other local bass affiliated shirt. If you have none of those, you better buy something from the Bass Love booth tonight!

Dave Betamax | 11-11 Agency July Podcast Mix

Packing a roster that includes Mono/Poly, ASC, and Mary Anne Hobbs, 11-11 Agency always holds it down as far as talent in the bass/beat scene on the west coast goes. Earlier this year, Sara (head of the agency) started a monthly podcast to spread the agency’s love of bass music throughout. This month, they selected Smut+Bass leader, Dave Betamax, to provide the sounds for their 7.11.11 mix. Blending ambient tones with deep bass and even Japanese hip-hop, Dave takes the listener on a trip that not too many people would condone. Click below, head on over to the 11-11 website, and give the podcast a listen.

Corporate Propaganda, The People and DUBSTEP?

When I was asked to be the Music Supervisor for a documentary about Corporate Propaganda and its effects on Democracy I instantly said yes. This is the first trailer which is backed by a DUBSTEP tune that I produced. For more information on the film visit http://roarofthebewilderedherd.org/. For more of my music visit http://soundcloud.com/the-nome.

The film focuses primarily on the work established by the late Alex Carey regarding his theories on Corporate Propaganda and its effects on Democracy. The film takes the audience on a journey from the late 1800's beginning with the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, one of the first known written texts proven to be a forgery in order to spread antisemitism, and then taken through World War I and introduced to the Creel Commission, where the establishing ideas of public relations were essentially first introduced. Following World War II, the film gradually evolves into our present day, re-visiting some of the most current historical events that have taken place including our last Presidential Election and explores society's current structure as a proposed democracy in a capital driven economy.
