After growing up with a love of hip hop he got into producing and DJ at a young age while being influenced by early 90s rave and dance artists such as Moby, Altern-8 and The Prodigy. Now with over 15 years of experience he is performing regularly throughout North America with one European tour under his belt and a world tour later this year. When behind the tables he shows the signs of an artist and performer who truly loves their work. He has become a much sought after remixer for various styles, ranging from big dubstep club bangers to percussive and bass heavy 4/4 dance floor hits. His crisp production style has been shared with labels such as Ultra Records, Ministry of Sound, Scion A/V and Palms Out Sounds. The video for “Smoke Rings” is a truly epic production made on a tinfoil budget, and entails Udachi and Jubilee on a quest to recover some weed stolen by sneaky aliens, culminating in a major interplanetary dance party. On August 22nd Down welcomes Scuba to Miami for the first time!
Here's a little info about Scuba:
Scuba is the production and DJ alias of Paul Rose, the curator of one of the original dubstep labels, Hotflush Recordings, which released some of the most important tracks of the genre’s formative period and has grown into a leading player in the wider world of electronic music. Originally from London, Scuba relocated to Berlin in 2007, a move which (according to some) influenced his critically acclaimed debut album, A Mutual Antipathy (2008). The stylistic synergy of the album cemented his position as one of the most forward-thinking dubstep producers. The project was subsequently completed with a series of remixes by Surgeon, Substance, Jamie Vex’d, Martyn, Marcel Dettmann and the artist himself under his SCB guise.
His second album, Triangulation, was released on Hotflush in March 2010 to universal plaudits, with many reviewers immediately tipping it as a potential album of the year. An amalgamation of disparate styles, from house to experimental drum n bass, the album has been noted as a landmark in the genre-blurring trend of contemporary dance music.
Between album sessions he has been busy remixing artists including Booka Shade, Fever Ray and Will Saul, and developing the SCB project which focuses squarely on house and techno. In addition to A&R and production duties, he also runs the massively successful SUB:STANCE night at the legendary Berlin club Berghain, the sound of which he committed to plastic in a DJ mix released on Ostgut Ton in January 2010.

Starkey + Reso + Anneka Builld a Beat for MAH on Radio 1
PRESS KIT BUSINESS:
RESO is a rising star, gaining worldwide notoriety for his technoid inspired productions which often transcend the dubstep tag that many have easily slotted him into. Reso’s aural identity is a densely layered, high octane tapestry, rich with musical texture and colour, which sets him apart from the minimal sparseness of many of his fellow producers. With a busy DJ schedule, Reso ...has been smashing dancefloors from Newcastle to Nottingham and London, whilst regularly hitting Europe.
Mary Anne Hobbs has been a fervent supporter of the young producer, commissioning a special 20-minute mix for her Radio One Breezeblock show back in January 2007. Reso has worked with Burial, engineering his critically acclaimed remix of Jamie Woon's Wayfaring Stranger. More recently Reso's remix of The Dubstitutes 2 Faced Rasta (Dubting) has been gathering strong support from some of Dubstep's key players such as Benga, N-Type, Walsh and Rusko. With releases due on Hospital Records, Storming Productions, Destructive, Urban Graffiti and Skud, Reso is definitely one to catch! http://www.myspace.com/corgrimey
