Gooddroid Speaks



DJ Gooddroid has been playing dubstep in Miami for a long time now, and most recently the Get Low events at our (((SHAKE))) party. We figured you should get to know her, so we asked some questions and got some answers. Read on...

Q. Do you remember the first dubstep track you heard?

A. Digital Mystikz- Anti War Dub


Q. How long have you been djing and where have you played?


A. I've been dj'ing since I was 13, but I didn't really start playing in clubs till I was 18. In miami i've played at Studio A, Circa 28 (before Electric Pickle), Nocturnal, X-it, Jazid, Casanova, the Bentley, Score, PS 14, the Vagabond, and I started Roots thursdays that was tied in with infrastructure at Soho Lounge with Frank Mendez, which was the first dubstep weekly in Miami. In NYC i've played at the Skinny, Henrietta Hudson's...I could go on forever!


Q. Tell us about the first dubstep song you played...


A. It was Digital Mystikz- Ancient Memories (Skream Remix)


Q. Are you excited to play with N-Type?

A. Absolutely. I think he's amazing and talented and I'm honored to be playing with him.


Q. What can we expect you to play at Get Low III?


A. Sexy, heavy, dirty dub.


Q. We're about to give the people your new mix, tell them about it...

A. My new mix is a good profile of my dub style. I love dirty bass but I stick to my dub reggae roots. Gooddroid in a nutshell.
